In Summer 2005 Zonnewater was kindly invited by the Indian company Fontus Water to install a prototype of the Aqua Solaris on their facilities for product evaluation

Research and development often is unpredictable. The tests in Delhi have been less successful than the prototype runs on the Island of Bonnaire. It turned out that the system design used in Bonnaire reacts too sensitive to changes in the radiation balance. A constant haze (Smog) in Delhi results in a much less favorable ratio of direct to diffuse radiation, which resulted in significantly reduced performance of the entire system. The goal however must be to develop a water maker that is operational under as wide a range of environmental and geographical conditions, as possible.
The direct outcome of the Delhi tests and earlier tests in Italy in the same year were experimentswith new concepts in The Netherlands later that year and South Africa in 2006.
